Day 2 - Medical Exam and Book Learning!

Hello everyone.. this just in... Laura wants to do her own blog... So if you want to see a really good and awesome blog that is updated with pictures and exciting stuff.. come and visit this site on a regular basis... On the other hand... if you want a lame and boring site that will give you a virus ... Go to Laura's site... Just kidding... but she is going to be doing her own thing and i'll link to her site once it's going... Soooo.. today we did a medical exam in the morning.. that involved peeing in a cup.. an eye exam and hearing test.. blood taken.. height/weight... blood pressure and of course we had to wait 2 hours to go on the x-ray bus.. i really wish i brought my camera for that one... Why they need our x-rays?? I dunno... Usually you have to have a broken bone for them to perform an x-ray in Canada... but apparently they enjoy radiation for fun here... ------------------->

Here's a little pic of the
country... we
landed in the green area.... we're doing orientation in the next blue area... and we'll be living in the red area.... starting this Friday.. just to give you an idea.

We started learning a bit about English as a second language and the first teacher we had was really interesting and hilarious actually. He gave us an example of what we could do with our English Camps (not regular classes). You can find that here on youtube @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5yFmyGm9iA
Pretty crazy stuff eh? This was an example done by another teacher a few years back. If that was done in Canada... it'd be all over the news.... Als
o.. they believe in corporate punishment and i found this little "rule" in my text... "Speak softly, but carry a big stick." hahaha... this is going to be fun !!!!

Next class we had a teacher who was boring as all hell... we talked about how great he was... pushed his products and basically bored as all to tears.... He was
very intelligent but didn't know how to teach worth a damn... or at l
east keep my attentio
n.... Here's a picture of him...

And an artist's (my new friend Dave) rendition of him... spitting.. .or splitting image? haven't figured that one out yet...

Alright... so.. we got our Korean class leader to write down the address of a bar for us and a few new friend and us are going to have a few pints tonight in the town... If we get lost... we just show them our name tags and they'll take us back to campus... Pretty hilarious really..... I took a few pics of me studying and Laura studying which bar to go to... but they're kinda boring...

Here's a pic of dinner tonight.. kim-chi is fermented cabbage that kinda tastes like it's been bathed in that hot garlic rooster sauce... it's really tasty ... it's pictured in the top right corner... if you ever want to see the details of a pic.. just click on it and it'll bring up a huge version... k.. there'll be some really cool pics soon posted b/c tomorrow we're going to a korean folk adventure or something.. and i'm bringing out my big dog camera for same sweet shots... i'll post some time before Friday I'm sure....  laterrrrrr...
